"Who cares what teachers ... earn?"
Seriously?

Yes seriously. Who cares? Why do you care?

The posts are so self righteous, they are fantastic. A couple of posts ago we got a lecture of some pending state legislation. I tried to read it but blacked out half way through. What's great is he/she then urges you to call your STATE legislator, Tim Murphy or Mike Doyle, complete with their DC area code in the phone number. You would think the professor would know the difference between their state and federal legislators.

Mike Doyle and Tim Murphy both have offices in Washington, DC.
However, if you would like their local numbers, they are as follows:

For Mike Doyle:
412 390 1499 (Southside)
412 241 6055 (Penn Hills)
412 664 4049 (McKeesport)

For Tim Murphy:
412 344 5583 (Mount Lebanon)
724 850 7312 (Greensburg)

Local phone numbers are all routed to their Washington, DC numbers.
While someone may not be staffing local offices, they are definitely staffing the Washington DC offices.

The almighty teachers' union will go to great lengths to protect their own; especially those who should be let go.

There are new rules pending teacher dismissals, described as follows:

1. If, after having been evaluated, a teacher receives two consecutive "DISTINGUISHED," evaluations ... or ... perhaps the teacher receives an evaluation of "DISTINGUISHED," followed by an evaluation of "PROFICIENT," then there are no problem with that teacher whatsoever. Perhaps the adjectives of "excellent" or "superior" could be used to describe that teacher.

2. If, after having been evaluated, a teacher receives two "PROFICIENT" evaluations ... or ... perhaps the teacher receives an evaluation of "PROFICIENT," followed by an evaluation of "SATISFACTORY," there are still no problems whatsoever with that teacher. Perhaps the adjectives of "very good" or simply "good" could be used to describe that teacher.

3. If, after having been evaluated, a teacher receives one "UNSATISFACTORY" evaluation followed by an evaluation of "SATISFACTORY," then that teacher needs help. Said teacher will be placed on a "PROFESSIONAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN." Perhaps the adjectives of "subpar" or "below average" could be used to describe that teacher.

4. If, after having been evaluated, a teacher receives two consecutive "UNSATSIFACTORY" evaluations, then there are problems with that teacher. Perhaps the adjectives of "poor" or simply "marginal" could be used to describe that teacher.

The Senate approved this bill on July 27, but the House hasn’t returned to Harrisburg to vote on it.

These rules are REASONABLE!
Again, if you don't know what to say, simply tell them that you understand that "new teacher evaluations were approved by the Senate on July 27, and that these same teacher evaluations are now pending in the House." You may also want to tell them that "these evaluations will change the teacher seniority system in Pennsylvania, and that you support these four new categories (see above)."

Please.
Contact your local representatives and voice your support for these imminent changes.

I post the following strictly for your entertainment. Though they might seem implausible, they're easily researchable. Google is your friend! And while they're gathered from across the entire country, we have enough teachers with a checkered past, right here in good ole EF. More than happy to oblige. Just ask.

You never fail to disappoint. While you are complaining about teachers you should save some extra venom for your 7th grade civics teacher for not teaching you the difference between your state and federal representatives.

Seriously speaking, do you perhaps have a bit of a masochistic streak?
It was never my thing.
However, it's no problem.
We do aim to please.

Representative was used in the generic sense of the word there, post grad MultiMan,
but thanks for trying to proselytize me once again to your wisdom.

No name calling today?
Where's the moron?
Where's the bitter old bastard?
Now I'M disappointed.

When we use the numbers from one to ten, ordinal or cardinal, we should write them out.
Moreover, when we compound them with a noun, we may hyphenate them, depending on what follows.

For example, "7th grade civics teacher" is simply bad form.
It shows laziness, too; as does your two-sentence response.
Here's what it should look like:
"seventh-grade civics teacher."
In this case we hyphenate, because something follows the ordinal number;
in this case, the noun "civics teacher."
Take a look at the following example.
"She's in the seventh grade."
No hyphen is noted, because nothing follows the ordinal number.
Mind your inevasible tuition increase, Teach.
It's coming!

You perhaps have some "extra venom" for your ... seventh-grade English teacher?
EF, perhaps?
I know, I know.
Your expertise lies in the field of differential calculus.
Maybe try a different rocket company there, Wile E.*

BAHAHHHAAAAHAAA!

The summer is winding down.
Back to school you go, and with a brand spanking new pay raise no less!
Go union!
However, I hear a big chunk of it will be used to offset healthcare expenses.
Too bad, so sad.

You still don't get it. Murphy and Doyle are in the US House of Representatives. Gergely and Saccone are the local STATE representatives. They are the ones who would be voting on the bill you reference. But thanks for the grammar lesson.

Don't bother arguing or even trying to correct the moron. He doesn't even know when he's being insulted by a different poster.

Hey moron - it's me, the multimillionaire. Haven't posted in a while. While you were busy chastising me in numerous posts, all along, it was another poster. Doesn't matter, I'm still rich and you're still, well, an idiot.

I'm glad the teachers got a new contract, albeit, not as good as they deserved. Such is life. By the way, if you can't afford your school taxes, you can always move to Denmark!

See ya loser.......

He doesn't even know when he's being insulted by a different poster.

How DESPERATE are you when you pose as more than one person?
Perhaps your parents had the talk with you about telling lies and needing a good memory?

Hey moron - it's me, the multimillionaire. Haven't posted in a while.
While you were busy chastising me in numerous posts, all along, it was another poster.

To solidify this lame illusion and keep the ruse going, your imaginary friend(s) also need to post a rebuttal.
Tedious, isn't it?
Take your pick.
I'll reply to you or your imaginary friend(s); not both

Doesn't matter, I'm still rich and you're still, well, an idiot.
Like I said. I don't want to know what you do for a living, but do tell me, Walter Mitty.
How MANY millions are you up to these days?

I never tire of your Image

You're DESPERATE to believe your own BS.
The tragedy is that you're providing a comedy of errors for the thousands of people who read this site.

BOTTOM LINE IS THIS: THEY'RE WELL AWARE THAT THEY'RE OVERPAYING IN SCHOOL TAXES. NO MORE, NO LESS. WHEN YOU TELL THEM TO "MOVE TO DENMARK," YOU'RE ONLY RUBBING SALT IN ALREADY FESTERING WOUND.

You post on here as an apologist for bloodsucking leeches, or worse;
you yourself, are an angry entitled teacher whose union protection only goes so far.

I'm glad the teachers got a new contract, albeit, not as good as they deserved. Such is life.

"By the way, if you can't afford your school taxes, you can always move to Denmark!"

Heard you when you - or your imaginary friend(s) - posted the same two weeks ago:

"Here's an idea - move to Denmark and get the hell out. I'm certain no one would miss you anyway....."

You didn't post the following two years ago, did you?

"If you can't afford the taxes move to Clairton people!"

These are the people you are telling to move if they can't pay higher property taxes, even though they pay your salary.
They aren't going anywhere.
YOU can move, however.
Maybe think about moving out of your parents' basement.
I forgot.
You're a multimillionaire.
And now, back to reality.

Some of these folks are having an extremely difficult time paying their school taxes.
Someone needs to speak for them.
Some of them have had to move into an apartment, because they couldn't afford to keep their homes.
There ARE families who constantly have to readjust their budgets ... to pay their school taxes.
There ARE families whose yearly ritual is to sacrifice more and more ... simply because they can't pay their school taxes.
You've insulted THEM.

See ya loser.......

See ya, poser!
PS
Check out the words in
red.
You're easy.

Look man, I get that you're old (around 73-74), not terribly bright and, by the look of your posts, socially inept and awkward. It's because of your social awkwardness that life has dealt you a terrible hand. Most likely you are all alone, never married and never had children. I truly feel bad for you. I wouldn't wish your situation on my worst enemy. That said, at your age, you probably won't see the end of the new five year contract for the teachers. Wouldn't you be far better off enjoying what limited years you have left instead of posting nonsense and hate on this forum? Try living your remaining limited years in peace and harmony. I think you'll be a far happier person. Please stop embarrassing yourself - life is too short.

Maybe you can get Trump to undo the contract? After all he is President of the school board. Maybe Chuck Bakewell can vote to lower corporate taxes?

95,449 seems a lot less impressive when you factor in that you have checked this site 20 times a day for the last 5 years. And no, I didn't spell out my cardinal number.

So - just more personal attacks?
While "Codger" was nice, I prefer that you stick with "bitter old bastard," or "idiot," or "moron,"
in keeping with your true colors.
You are definitely like school in the summer - no class.

No commentary on cash strapped taxpayers who are on the verge of being forced out of their homes?
A move to Denmark is a little too expensive for them.
Hey, we can't all be post grad, multimillionaires!

Codger - I can and will help you if you need it financially. I will help you pay your school taxes if you are that strapped. I am sincere about this. I will meet you anywhere you wish, at any time. Please name the time and place. I will help you since I don't want to see anyone suffer like you appear to be.

I never got the fixed income argument. When people retire do these people think the price of bread and milk would never increase? Because you didn't foresee this coming, are teachers never supposed to get a pay increase? Because the price of bread and milk will always increase, don't taxes have to increase as well?

Unlike you, I do not tip my hand, financially or otherwise.
Unlike you, I do not discuss politics.
However, there is a forum for such political discussions.

You're angry.
I understand.
Bad day at work?
McFlurry machine on the fritz?
Take some of those millions ...   ... and get the help you need.
You are delusional, to say nothing of your issues of control, but I kind of think you already know that.
I'm not the first to tell you that now, am I?
True, while we're both anonymous on here,
anonymity only goes so far.
You allow for a certain degree of leak through.
That just means you're rather transparent.
Well. In your case, it means you're REALLY transparent.
Seriously speaking - I do believe you're lacking in the self awareness department.

Just don't hurt anyone; especially the kids you teach.
Thanks, but no thanks on your offer to "meet me," and ... uh ... "help me."
And one other thing.
If you are indeed as arrogant in real life as you are in your digital life, you should be careful.
And I think you can probably figure out what I mean by that.
Just sayin'
If you feel homicidal / suicidal, talk to someone.
I hear that today's psychotropic medications can do wonders.

Once again, as a teacher you're way overpaid.
Taxpayers are way overtaxed.
Simple as that.

While I'd rather not make your acquaintance, I could use some of that post graduate, investment advice about the things with which you're probably familiar.
Tell me.
Would I be better off "investing" in a caramel macchiato topped with caramel drizzle and mocha, or should I "invest" in the iced coconutmilk mocha macchiato mixed with espresso, and chilled Sumatran coconut milk?

And what's your take on iPods.
Touch?
Or Nano?

Should I "invest" in an iPhone 6, or 6S?

Beats Solo2?
Or Beats Solo3?

And while I'm not one who desecrates the flesh,
I was thinking about getting one of those crown-of-thorns, wrap-around tatts for my biceps, or perhaps one of the three following monikers:

• Bitter Old Bastard
• Old Battle Axe
• Miserable Son Of A Bitch

What do you think?

Any wisdom on piercings?
Any help would be appreciated.

I mean, after all, I DO want to be cool and trendy.
Nothing on the globe is more important to me than this.

Since I'm drowning in debt here, maybe you could give me your expertise on the credit card roulette game?
No?

Finally, I, myself, am thinking about furthering my education.
What's your opinion of CCAC?
I mean, I didn't even know they had a post graduate curriculum!

Codger - not a problem. Please know the offer still stands in the event you change your mind. I will help you if you need it. Don't be too proud to accept the help either. That said, don't play the role of a martyr either. You stated in prior posts that you have done quite well for yourself. Good for you - seriously! If that's the case, and you are as concerned as you say you are about taxpayers losing their homes, not being able to eat, etc. because they have to pay their school taxes, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and help them out? You stated that someone has to stand up for the poor taxpayers and speak on their behalf. I see you are doing that, however, what else are you doing to help them? Or is this just a dog and pony show? I think we all know the answer.

Anyway, again, I am not a teacher and have no affiliation with a teacher. I am, however, a staunch supporter of educators. No way could I ever do their job, nor would I want to. They are underpaid and are too often disrespected. I could never put up with the crap they have to deal with for the amount of money they get paid. I am blessed to be able to be retired at age 51. I have worked very hard to put myself in this financial position and don't begrudge anyone who also works hard and earns a decent salary and makes a better life for themselves. I truly cannot understand your disdain for teachers - must be a personal issue or hang up with you. Not my problem though.

I will try to answer your questions.

I can help you with investments - anytime you want to discuss, let me know. I have a MBA and am well versed in this arena. Sadly, I cannot help you with your espresso, or iced drinks. I don't drink those and have no knowledge of them. Sorry.

As for Ipods, they are a bit outdated I believe. I had a touch once, but that was a while ago.

I have an iphone 6S and highly recommend it.

I'm not really up on Beats. My kids have them, so I'll have to defer to them on this topic. I would guess Beats Solo3 is the latest?

I have no tattoos. I'm not a fan - just not my style. I would suggest against it, but if you must, go for something subtle.

I don't have piercings either. Again, not a fan. I would advise against it.

My advise on credit cards - pay them off in full at the end of each month. There is good debt and bad debt. Credit card debt is bad debt. Don't purchase anything on them you can't pay off in full when you get the statement. Just use common sense.

I'm not familiar with CCAC and their curriculum. I went to a private university for my undergrad and MBA. I'm sure there are quality instructors there as well. It's all what you put into it and what you want to get out of it.

Your civility and sincerity, while appropriate, is a little late in coming.
You started off as an asshole, and while an apology is definitely in order, it's not expected, nor is it welcomed.
